The Noon Optimist Club of Galveston determines the community service we perform based on input from club members and the community. Each year we elect officers and directors and a new budget is approved. Through the year, the board oversees projects, income and expenses.
The majority of our projects and activities center on "bringing out the best in youth". There are certainly other community service projects important to us. These revolve around citizenship and respect for law. Our youth programs are explained in greater detail on our website including C.H.I.C.K.E.N. Club, Essay Contest, Internet Safety, Oratorical Contest, Youth Sports and other Youth Programs.
For a stronger foundation to implement youth and community projects, we also tend to our membership, club, and interclub relations. Personal growth, fellowship, and fundraising are essentials for our continued success. New club building and working with other clubs in our zone and district broaden our base. Our involvement in Optimist International at conventions and in other pursuits expands our horizon.
